It plugged into the its own interface card (40pin), i'm not sure is it IDE or not. Interface card allows me to choose IO port number (I selected 0x320). Also I heard there are few non-IDE standards: Sony, Mitsumi, Panasonic. Is "Vertos" just one of them ? Is "Vertos" supported by FreeBSD ? It seems not to be recognized by Windows 95 (I have no windows specific drivers, just DOS ones). I'd like to figure out whether it's functional or not. Can I just install FreeBSD from that CDROM drive ? Motherboard is 486, based on Opti chipset, it has 3 ISA + 4 VLB.
