Hello, I am runing a FreeBSD 7-STABLE i386 box on a Sony Vaio VGN-SZ5MN and I cannot totally power-off my laptop. When I switch to the acpi state 5 (halt, shutdown) everything *seems* to work well. The OS shutdown correctly but after displaying : "Powering system off using ACPI" (/sys/dev/acpica/acpi.c:1678) the laptop remains powered (CPU cooler running, LCD display on), but does not respond to any key. So I must unplug the battery and the power cable to shut it down. I have already sent a message explaining my problem on this ml: http://freebsd.monkey.org/freebsd-acpi/200804/msg00025.html But actually I am looking for some help to solve it. The fact is that every other OS that I use, OpenBSD 4.3, NetBSD 4.0 and Linux 2.6, manage well the ACPI (at least power-off and reboot). I have look at the Freebsd ACPI implementation and code. But I have a actually no idea from where the problem could come. Regarding that all those OS are using almost the same ACPICA code I guess that the problem should not be very complicated. Finally, should I post a PR? Thanks in advance, Martin
