May be help, http://www.live.com/wireless/unix-base-station.html and a little explanation you can read at, http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/wireless.html Lucent (Orinoco / avaya) base wireless Card will not work for "hostap" or "ibss-master" mode. To have your own FreeBSD host based Access point, you must using Prism II or 2.5 Card.
