If GN can be linked with freewais-sf and the latter provides all the
functionality of freewais 0.5 then I will complete that linking and
'wais' can be consigned to the graveyard. If linkage is problematical
and all functionality retained, I can fold the former 'wais' port into
the GN port so that it can stay wais capable without requiring a surplus
port separately.
