Sorry, but I can't help you right now.  I'm in the throws of rebuilding 
current world with my February 16 kernel to bring my utilities from February 
16 to today.  After I spend an hour or so getting some breakfast, I'll come 
back and try to answer this question.

I found it in the middle (though closer to the end) once and at the end of 
short files (< 10K) the other times.
