The kernel is not recognizing my CD-RW. ad0: 19077MB at ata0-master UDMA33 unknown: timeout waiting for read DRQunknown: timeout waiting for read DRQATA PseudoRAID loaded Comparable boot msg from 5.4 is; ad0: 19077MB [38760/16/63] at ata0-master UDMA33 acd0: DVDROM at ata1-master PIO4 The machine is a Dell latitude C600. I also have a DVD which *is* recognized. Is support for this particular CD-RW lost in the mists of time, or is there something I can check for? /boot/device.hints has the correct hints for this drive when compared to the 5.4 hints. Dmesg attached. Any assistance appreciated.
