The bsdinstall keymap selection offers a list of keymaps along with OK and Cancel buttons.  But many users will not know which of several choices to pick.  Pressing Escape at this screen selects the default keymap.  There should be a third button labeled Use Default Keymap which does the same thing but tells the user that such a choice is possible.
