I've been getting errors on an IDE disk lately. See this from /var/log/messages: --------- Dec 4 01:07:46 asterix /kernel: ad0: READ command timeout tag=0 serv=0 - resetting Dec 4 01:07:54 asterix /kernel: ata0: resetting devices .. done Dec 4 01:07:54 asterix /kernel: ad0: read interrupt arrived earlyad0: read error detected (too) late Dec 4 01:07:54 asterix /kernel: ad0: READ command timeout tag=0 serv=0 - resetting Dec 4 01:07:54 asterix /kernel: ata0: resetting devices .. done Dec 4 01:07:54 asterix /kernel: ad0: read interrupt arrived earlyad0: read error detected (too) late --------- The disk in question is a rather old 2 Gb Seagate unit. Does this mean I should go buy a new disk, or is there something I can do to deal with it?
