XP is a jealous god -- it rewites the MBR with a standard boot pointing to the MS slice. If this is the case go back to the FreeBSD installation CD and reinstall the MBR using the FreeBSD boot manager. Or follow the luke <lgrady@gmail.com> suggestion to achieve the same result. Malcolm
