Thanks for the advice. I didn't install php5 as such, only php5-extensions so as to obtain the requried modules I needed for this server. Seeing that I'd already "make deinstall clean" for php5-extensions and reinstalled, what procedure(s) should I follow here? Do I need to also do "make deinstall clean" for each of the extension modules as well? Sorry for asking, but I'm not certain how my having php5-extensions is affected by your suggestion being pointed to php 5.1.4 - which I never installed as such. Thanks again.
