You could try re-cvsup'ing your ports collectionfor XFree86-4. There's
a couple of entries in there that may be of interest to you:
2001-04-09 19:34:01 jmz Upgrade the Matrox driver to version 1.2.0
2001-04-09 18:16:12 jmz Build and install the DRI kernel modules.
