Sorry, but I disagree with this paragraph you added: ----------From FAQ begin If you're already running FreeBSD 2.2 with a CMD640 IDE controller and you want to use the second channel, build a new kernel with options "CMD640" enabled. ----------From FAQ end First, it's only true for FreeBSD 2.2.1 and FreeBSD 2.2.2, not for -stable and will not be true for FreeBSD 2.2.5 (In fact I committed the change only to update this FAQ for the upcoming FreeBSD 2.2.5) Second, the FAQ should be as independent from any releases as possible, the release dependend info is to be found in other docs coming with a release (manual pages, hardware.hlp, GENERIC, LINT). (BTW there should be more pointers to these sources of enlightenment in the FAQs) Third, I like short answers in the FAQ. Wolfgang
