I am about to put FreeBSD on my laptop - a Gateway 7422 with an AMD64 3200 as well. The laptop is a bit fussier about operating system settings. Am I better off to go with the i386 or the amd64 versions of FreeBSD 6.1? Is there a difference in terms of overall stability or major features? Thanks Ralph Ellis
