I have a Lucent Orinoco PCMCIA radio card witch PCI->PCMCIA adapter. The card works great since FreeBSD 4.4. Is there any way to be recognized faster by the kernel ? I have to wait 10s until it comes up. Even if I wrote the irq and io ports in pccardd.conf the process doesn't get faster. And on boot it sais: pccard: card inserted, slot 0 pccard: card removed, slot 0 pccard: card inserted, slot 0 Why is it removed after the insertion ? 2. I'm experiencing a speed drop on moving files on my hard disk. I don't know about the average data rate but I was having peeks of 8.x sometimes even 9 MBytes/s and know the maximum is 7.x Mbytes/s Though, sync is very fast after every transfer compared to 4.5 where it happened to spend a little more time flushing the cache. I have a Maxtor DX740 ata133.
