I thought, from reading /etc/periodic/daily/999.local that I could put scripts in /usr/local/etc/periodic and they would be run by the daily run. However, this appears not to be the case. If I symlink these scripts into /etc/periodic/daily, they run, of course, but what is the proper way to use daily periodic? I do have these lines in /etc/defaults/periodic.conf: # periodic script dirs local_periodic="/usr/local/etc/periodic /usr/X11R6/etc/periodic" and they are not over-ridden anywhere else. -- Email : afabbro@indoctrination.com "Don't try to be like Jackie.
