Hi, This is my first post to this list so I hope I dont step on anyone's toes. I am having problems getting through installing FreeBSD 4.2 onto a compaq dl380. I went through the steps for compaq's SmartStart and set up my array, (I have 2x9gig drives that I want to mirror each other with). It seems to go fine until I go to install freebsd on the computer. I go into the fdisk utility and there is a small chunk (~32megs) for the compaq stuff and I press 'c' on the large unused block then 's' to make it bootable. I then go and start creating the partitions. My first partition is 1gig '/' then I have a large 4gig '/usr', 3gig '/home', 250megs '/var', and the rest to swap space. I keep getting a status of 36 and it keeps dying when it tries to make the root partition. I have tried moving my partitions and sizes around but still keep getting this error. I looked through the archives but really couldnt find a relevent answer.
