Hi: I am trying to install FreeBSD 3.4 on the following system: Tyan Tomcat III Intel Pentium 133MHz 96MB EDO RAM 8GB EIDE Drive 3COM 3C509B ISA NIC I have an ISDN connection to my ISP and a subnet. During boot up the 3COM 3C509B is assigned IRQ 5. I go through the install and a connection appears to be made to the FTP server. The install then hangs while attempting to extract bin to /. I mention the 3COM 3C509B as it is not picked up during the install of Linux and given its old age, thought FreeBSD might also have a problem. So, is my install problem likely caused by the 3COM NIC? If so, are there some extra settings I can specify when I define the network settings to get this to work? I am not going through a proxy at the current time.
