Does the build need PREFIX called specifically 'PREFIX', or anything works?

'PREFIX' is very generic, and this definition would be FreeBSD-specific, so=
 I'd
prefer to give it a more descriptive name.


Speaking of OPT, why did you comment it out in 1.6?
Without -O3, the generated code is much, much slower (at least on Linux).
