If you want to add distributions, simply run /stand/sysinstall, select Configure, select Distributions, and select the pieces you want. You should be prompted for the media to use and it'll install as usual. If that isn't working for you, download the man/ directory from ftp.freebsd.org and run the install.sh script in that directory. For Netscape, you can install the FreeBSD version with no problems. It's not on the CDROM so you'll have to get it from Netscape directly.
