There is little ezjail can do about what /etc/rc.d/jail does in its compatibility wrapper, which is in fact who generates the temp config, not ezjail. Unless there is progress in how a 3rd party tool can manipulate /etc/jail.conf, I do not see how to handle a proper transition.
