Unfortunately, all messages handled by the "local" rule are getting converted to 8-bit, and I haven't the slightest idea why that is happening, or even why something like that would happen! .mc will have to wait until next week, though, since that's at my home computer. If someone could give hints on what to look for, that will probably help.
