G Little Gnome people, I am having a major problem installing Gnome 2.12. Release info: # uname -a FreeBSD .myhome.westell.com 6.0-RELEASE FreeBSD 6.0-RELEASE #0: Thu Nov 3 09:36:13 UTC 2005 root@x64.samsco.home:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC i386 I install the above, then I do a portsnap fetch update I then do a portsnap extract Then I do: # cd /usr/ports/x11/gnome2 # make clean # make install clean Then I get this error: ===> Building for gconf2-2.12.1 gmake all-recursive gmake[1]: Entering directory `/usr/ports/devel/gconf2/work/GConf-2.12.1' Making all in gconf gmake[2]: Entering directory `/usr/ports/devel/gconf2/work/GConf-2.12.1/gconf' /usr/local/bin/orbit-idl-2 ./GConfX.idl /libexec/ld-elf.so.1: Shared object "libglib-2.0.so.600" not found, required by "orbit-idl-2" gmake[2]: *** [GConfX-common.c] Error 1 gmake[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/ports/devel/gconf2/work/GConf-2.12.1/gconf' gmake[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 gmake[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/ports/devel/gconf2/work/GConf-2.12.1' gmake: *** [all] Error 2 *** Error code 2 Stop in /usr/ports/devel/gconf2. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/mail/evolution. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/x11/gnome2. THinking I screwed something up I did a fresh install of the operating system. Still the exact same results. What am I doing wrong? Thanks !! -- John J.
