I would suggest that you move your INDEX out of the way and fetch a new=20
one, it seems likely that this is just a corrupt INDEX.
(We had a corrupt INDEX on one of the machines that builds the website a=20
while back, that was annoying to debug.)

I am using portsnap to fetch the Ports. Why would it be corrupt? The
"mate" category is there.
