Then go to current.freebsd.org and pick the latest snap, the latest couble of days has been quiet :) Install it like usual, and you have a UP -current system. When you have that running, build a SMP capable kernel by using the SMP-GENERIC file as master. Compile and install in /kernel, remember to backup the old kernel just in case..
