Thanks for the info. Sorry I didn't know exactly where the info was... but I went and found it. It's in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/doc in various README's. It might not be your problem, but you might as well try it. Is your console displaying 50 lines when you first boot it, or only after you've run X once ??
