I have installed FBSD 4.0 on my scsi machine (p450, 128mb, tnt2 ultra, =
2940u2w, blaster live, etc...) onto a 8.4 gb IDE HD by itself. I then =
took same HD to my compaq 7180 (p100, 40mb, s3 trio64 enhanced, etc 5 yr =
old comp) and reinstalled from cdrom, it is working perfectly except =
that i cant access my cdrom drive (sony 8x, not compaqs) with either =
command:=20

/cdrom --with this command i get this: "/cdrom: Permission denied."

cd /cdrom --with this command it works but i cant see anything on the =
drive, i know i have info on it b/c it is the cdrom drive with the 4.0 =
ISO that i installed FBSD from like 20 secs ago, i cant do any "ls" =
command to get anything

i do know that the cdrom drive works because i did install it from the =
cdrom drive, also the permissions on the drive are as follows (they seem =
to be normal and ok)
drwxr-xr-x

any thoughts??????
thanx
