I then downloaded the PostScript version and tried to convert that. My conversions failed on three instances of a mis-typed font ('Helvetica-bold' instead of 'Helvetica-Bold') and [IIRC] one other fairly recognizable typo, which I fixed. I could then pass it through Acrobat Distiller, but come out without the images (and this is all sloowww on my machine due to the file's size).
