I've been struggling with this for a few days, so in desperation I'm asking! I've installed FreeBSD-11-STABLE. Latest ports tree (as of a few days ago). I have installed xorg and LXDE. My .xinitrc contains just: exec startlxde When I use startx, the screen turns graphical, and I get a dialog box that says: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.ConsoleKit.Manager.GeneralError: Unable to lookup session information for process '5389' 5389 is lxsession. If I acknowledge the box, LXDE then seems to load OK, and work. But I'm uneasy. As far as I can tell, ConsoleKit is looking for an environment variable called XDG_SESSION_COOKIE - which doesn't appear to be there. Noen of the documentation seems to help much. Any ideas, please? -- Bob
