The TXN will not be committed to disk, the data becomes *corrupt*, at
that point there is nothing available on disk, the pool is unable to
continue. Of course the data is still there but the pool _*WILL NOT*_
operate without the ZIL which is determined to be off-disk at the time
you created the slog.

You do have the possibility to use OpenSolaris to import the pool, not
upgrade it and remove the slog. This should be possible unless a upgrade
of the pool is eminent and needed before it allows you to use or remove
the slog. If it requires you to upgrade your pool then you will no
longer be able to use that on FreeBSD. Besides this, ZFSv13 v14 v15 does
not have the possibility to continue no matter what you try to do. I
think this has already been stated in this thread. The version that
allows you to remove the slog... v19.

If you have a slog then make sure you mirror it until the option to
remove the slog appears "IF IT WILL" in one of our versions.
