Hi, is there a way to find out which version of FreeBSD was installed - and for what architecture, simply by mounting the disk? I am not talking about uname, where you have to be inside the os, but if you simply mount the root partition to another computer, where to look for these information? linux has something like /etc/os-release, which is a textfile, is there an equivalent [method] in FreeBSD? grep -ir freebsd /mnt/etc did not reveal anthing, that might give a hint. Or I have overlooked this. Plattform would be more important than version, as latter one may at least be guessed by date. Thanks Ede
