	Sorry to bug you again, but it seems that the PPS driver for sio doesn't 
support PPS_CANWAIT.  Am I correct in that assessment?  Without blocking, I 
don't see any other mechanism for event-driven execution.  The RFC seems to 
hint towards sampling at the Nyquist frequency in the case of a missing 
PPS_CANWAIT.  Establishing an 80kHz loop is pretty much impossible given the 
100Hz resolution of nanosleep() and friends.
