I'm trying to setup freebsd 6.1 beta on an ACER 1644 laptop. I have managed to get wireless going and by following the recipe at http://www.mguillaud.net/acer1641/ have removed an acpi problem related to boot messages like ACPI-0438: *** Error: Looking up [Z00A] in namespace, AE_NOT_FOUND ACPI-1304: *** Error: Method execution failed [\\_SB_.BAT1._BST] (Node 0xc199f640), AE_NOT_FOUND I used acpidump -t -d to get an asl file which I patched following as in http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/htdig/freebsd-acpi/2005-November/002193.html However, during boot I still see some problems acpi_bus_number: can't get _ADR acpi_perf0: failed in PERF_STATUS attach I have looked at various versions of the asl/dsl, but don't know enough to figure out what is best. Can anyone advise? dmesg output contains the following lines related to acpi ACPI APIC Table: ACPI-0377: *** Info: Table [SSDT] replaced by host OS ACPI-0377: *** Info: Table [SSDT] replaced by host OS ACPI-0377: *** Info: Table [SSDT] replaced by host OS ACPI: overriding DSDT/SSDT with custom table ACPI-0377: *** Info: Table [DSDT] replaced by host OS acpi0: on motherboard acpi_bus_number: can't get _ADR acpi_bus_number: can't get _ADR acpi_bus_number: can't get _ADR acpi_bus_number: can't get _ADR acpi0: Power Button (fixed) acpi_ec0: port 0x62,0x66 on acpi0 Timecounter "ACPI-safe" frequency 3579545 Hz quality 1000 acpi_timer0: <24-bit timer at 3.579545MHz> port 0x1008-0x100b on acpi0 cpu0: on acpi0 acpi_perf0: on cpu0 acpi_perf0: failed in PERF_STATUS attach device_attach: acpi_perf0 attach returned 6 acpi_perf0: on cpu0 acpi_perf0: failed in PERF_STATUS attach device_attach: acpi_perf0 attach returned 6 acpi_throttle0: on cpu0 pcib0: port 0xcf8-0xcff on acpi0 pci0: on pcib0 pcib1: irq 17 at device 28.0 on pci0 pci9: on pcib1 pcib2: irq 16 at device 28.1 on pci0 pci10: on pcib2 pcib3: irq 18 at device 28.2 on pci0 pci2: on pcib3 pcib4: at device 30.0 on pci0 pci6: on pcib4 acpi_acad0: on acpi0 battery0: on acpi0 acpi_lid0: on acpi0 acpi_button0: on acpi0 acpi_button1: on acpi0 acpi_tz0: on acpi0 atkbdc0: port 0x60,0x64 irq 1 on acpi0 -- Robin Becker
