Trying to replace the Dell's noisy fans I wanted to make sure the CPU temperatures are normal. But I can find no way to read the temperatures at all. ASL dumped with acpidump does not compile. So as not to run too much text in the mail, here are the outputs: (compiled with ACPI_DEBUG) dmesg: http://omsk.mushinsky.net/acpi/dmesg acpidump -t -d: http://omsk.mushinsky.net/acpi/asl iasl errors: http://omsk.mushinsky.net/acpi/iasl finally, $ sysctl -a hw.acpi hw.acpi.supported_sleep_state: S1 S3 S4 S5 hw.acpi.power_button_state: S5 hw.acpi.sleep_button_state: S1 hw.acpi.lid_switch_state: NONE hw.acpi.standby_state: S1 hw.acpi.suspend_state: S3 hw.acpi.sleep_delay: 1 hw.acpi.s4bios: 0 hw.acpi.verbose: 0 hw.acpi.reset_video: 1 hw.acpi.cpu.cx_supported: C1/0 hw.acpi.cpu.cx_lowest: C1 hw.acpi.cpu.cx_usage: 100.00% Is it possible at all to monitor temperature on this box? If not ACPI, is there some other way? Dell's BIOS setup utility does not provide temperature either, so even at the cost of rebooting I cannot tell what it is. Sorry for dumb questions, I have never had to deal with this before. Thanks for any help, itz
