I installed the wu-ftpd port (2.2.2-RELEASE) and it runs from inetd with the -i, -l, and -a switches. It is logging to xferlog. In ftp/bin I have ls, tar, gzip, and compress, all owned root:ftp with 111 permissions. The directories in ftp are 555. In pub I have a directory called junk with some junk files in it, but when I log in to the server and type get junk.tar.gz or get junk.tar.Z it says "No such file or directory." ftpaccess and ftpconversions are in /usr/local/etc; I have not modified them. There's a statement somewhere that gnu tar is required....is the FreeBSD tar gnu tar? What else might I have to do? I don't have a password file in ftp/etc because I'm just setting this up for anonymous ftp, not for specific users. Thanks-- Annelise
