The standard for FreeBSD 2.2.x is set to 8. I have changed UT_NAMESIZE and MAXLOGNAME in ALL .h files (/usr/include/sys/utmp.h etc... etc) and I recompiled chown.c and getpwent.c and passwd.c but still I get : chown: <the_login_id>: illegal user name when <the_login_id> exceeds 8 chars. Any ideas anyone ? I need a maximum of 17 chars in a login ID. Thanks Peter. To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
