Hi Mick, Please don't send HTML-ized e-mail to the list. It tends to make some of the list users a bit out of sorts. That Sony CD-Rom should work, but if it's the one that I'm thinking of, it may take some kernel work. I had an older Sony CD-Rom that used the proprietary connection and it was a PITA to work with at times. The rest of the machine sounds pretty much okay. You may want a bigger hard drive. Also, how much RAM are you planning on having in this machine? Gnome on that class of hardware may be an act in futility. As a WWW server, it should do quite well though. --- Andy -----Original Message----- From: owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG [mailto:owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG]On Behalf Of Michael Page Sent: Tuesday, July 24, 2001 8:15 AM To: freebsd-questions@freebsd.org Subject: questions hi there got a couple questions about hardware for running freebsd what i wanna know is if my hardware will work with freebsd 4.2?
