Look at the output of `dmesg' - the first few lines of the kernel boot
sequence tell you how much memory it sees. e.g.:

FreeBSD 2.1-STABLE #0: Wed Dec 13 21:04:24 PST 1995
    root@westhill.cdrom.com:/usr/src/sys/compile/WESTHILL
CPU: 90-MHz Pentium 735\\90 or 815\\100 (Pentium-class CPU)
  Origin = "GenuineIntel"  Id = 0x521  Stepping=1
  Features=0x5bf<FPU,VME,PSE,MCE,CX8,APIC>
real memory  = 33554432 (32768K bytes)
avail memory = 31068160 (30340K bytes)
