Thank you very much, you are correct!  All I had to do was make that 
change and everything started working, and I am now happily sending you 
this eMail from a Mac on the lan that is going through my FreeBSD box.  
Wonderful.  Now all I have to do it get Samba running correctly, but that 
is a quesiton for another list.
