https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D283477 --- Comment #4 from web@umich.edu --- >From comment number #1 am I to understand that if I was running FreeBSD 15.x instead of 14.2-STABLE that I would not have this problem? Then from comment number #2 is this a problem with "pkg version" or not? W= hen I run "make fetchindex" while root within /usr/ports I expect (and have alw= ays gotten) to get a fresh copy of INDEX-14 (in this case). Is this not the ri= ght thing to do? Is this what is broken? I ask this because after I run that = make command, the string "550.127.05.1402501" is present inside associated with = the x11/nvidia-driver port. Why then does running "portmaster x11/nvidia-driver" continue to rebuild the same (wrong, older) verion of the x11/nvidia-driver port? Am I doing somet= hing wrong here? I have always done this in the past. When a port is reported = to be in need of an update after running the "pkg version -vIL=3D" command, ru= nning portmaster on that port always has (in the past) built/updated that port fr= om source after fetching the tar(1) file from wherever. In this case (for the x11/nvidia-driver port) the fetch mechanism of the portmaster script/command continues to fetch the wrong/older version of the x11/nvidia-driver source.= =20 After the portmaster command finishes it reports having reinstalled the same/wrong/older version of that port! Finally in comment number #3 it seems he is talking about a file that is not part of my /usr/ports tree. I have INDEX-14 but no file (lower case) "inde= x" in my /usr/ports directory. After I run "git pull" in /usr/ports I always run the "make fetchindex" command. I never have heard of any "auto index builder".= =20 Could someone please help me to clear up my confusion here? Thanks to all = who have read and commented on this bug report. Have a great day! . --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.=
