Deleted my old /etc/malloc.conf symlink when I first came across that information, and haven't created a new one yet. Thought it may have been due to having MALLOC_PRODUCTION defined in /etc/make.conf and/or /etc/src.conf, so disabled that, too. Still the problem persists.
