You know, if as a new user, I asked units(1) to tell me the exchange rate between two currencies, and it reported that it DID know the exchange rate, that it would give me an actual correct answer! This is _not_ useful. Don't say it's a bikeshed just because you don't agree -- this is a perfectly valid reason NOT to support this! If you want to do it CORRECTLY, be my guest. Find some way to fetch the current exchange rates off the net directly in units(1) so it reports something which may be construed in some fashion as correct. Otherwise, don't argue that our utilities should lie. I'm perfectly comfortable with you not wanting to remove them altogether, in which case I'm sure I or someone else will be happy to. :) > > The Euro-to-obsolete-national-currency rates can go > > into /usr/share/misc/euro if people really want them. > > This will lose functionality (you need an external calculator) > for no good reason. I agree with you on this, though. If there's a fixed conversion, stick it in units(1). If it's not fixed, don't. -- Brian Fundakowski Feldman \'[ FreeBSD ]''''''''''\ <> green@FreeBSD.org <> bfeldman@tislabs.com \ The Power to Serve! \ Opinions expressed are my own. \,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,\ To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe cvs-all" in the body of the message
