            Bug ID: 224710
           Summary: databases/postgresql10-server: please make parallel
                    installation of multiple versions possible
           Product: Ports & Packages
           Version: Latest
          Hardware: Any
                OS: Any
            Status: New
          Severity: Affects Only Me
          Priority: ---
         Component: Individual Port(s)
          Assignee: pgsql@FreeBSD.org
          Reporter: d8zNeCFG@aon.at
          Assignee: pgsql@FreeBSD.org
             Flags: maintainer-feedback?(pgsql@FreeBSD.org)

This is actually an enhancement request, not a bug report.

It would be beneficial to be able to run multiple Postgres versions in para=
llel
(see for example https://www.postgresql.org/docs/10/static/pgupgrade.html).
Therefore, would it be possible to change all the Postgres ports to install
into their separate directories, e.g., /usr/local/postgresql10,
/usr/local/postgresql96, etc.? Similar to how openjdk{6,7,8} does it. Plus
create a wrapper/switcher script, also similar to openjdk.
