Yes, I guess I overstated my case. :-) No binary files without first making a strong case that they're essential and that they are extremely unlikely to change once they've been checked in. Personally, I'd be much happier with an outright ban on binaries in the repository. But for a few exceptional cases, nobody has come up with a solution that's any less bad.
