This kind of debate is what I would like to see in freebsd-arch (with its new status as moderated but open to subscription by anybody). I don't think a moderated but open discussion would be a problem; I hope all of us (including the developers of each of the stacks) want to get an as good as possible result for FreeBSD, not just a result in the favour of ones 'original horse'.
