Hint: If you have to repeat the above  in the list a dozen times then is time to 
integrate the fix into the existing gdb

At the very least you answer the question . Not bad 8)

Yes, I do read the list however the noise ratio is way to high so
again if someone can *properly* archive the mailing list or better
yet create periodic tar file of the mailing list it may alleviate
the problem.

At any rate, I fixed the sound driver crash.
