Hello, I have an Intel sound device: ----CUT pcm0@pci0:0:27:0: class=0x040300 card=0xff011179 chip=0x27d88086 rev=0x02 hdr=0x00 vendor = 'Intel Corporation' device = '82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio' class = multimedia ----CUT I added ' snd_hda_load="YES" ' to /boot/loader.conf and I got sound, I also can change the volume with the mixer command ----CUT $ mixer Mixer vol is currently set to 100:100 Mixer pcm is currently set to 100:100 Mixer mic is currently set to 50:50 Mixer rec is currently set to 0:0 Recording source: mic $ mixer 50:50 Setting the mixer vol from 100:100 to 50:50. $ mixer Mixer vol is currently set to 50:50 Mixer pcm is currently set to 100:100 Mixer mic is currently set to 50:50 Mixer rec is currently set to 0:0 Recording source: mic ----CUT But gnome doesn't see the device, it only sees an 'Unknown (OSS Mixer)' Device which I can't change the sound from ----CUT FreeBSD phoenix.nasreddine.info 7.0-RC1 FreeBSD 7.0-RC1 #0: Mon Dec 24 12:18:24 UTC 2007 root@logan.cse.buffalo.edu:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC i386 ----CUT any help is appreciated....
