The machine failed again with the same symptom. I hate this rollercoaster. :( I have ordered MacOS Tiger, replacement video card and a replacement CPU. I'll try to reseat the existing CPU first and see if that helps. I'll try the Tiger when I get it. Sigh... :| -Krzysztof
