You haven't searched the mailing list :) 

I just did a search of the FAQ and Handbook for "mount AND extended
AND DOS" and got the following response
http://www.freebsd.org/handbook/x712.html which discusses your *exact*
problem as well as the fix...

What you are looking for is related to extended DOS partitions.  Try
using wd0s5 (Note the slice number = 5, not 2 for extended
partitions.)
