Toni, Thanks for your help. "camcontrol stop 0:0:0:0" and "camcontrol eject 0:0:0:0" give me "Unit stopped successfully" When I unplug the USB cable, FreeBSD recognizes the fact and gives me: #umass0: at hub0 port 1 (addr 2) disconnected (da0:umass-sim0:0:0): lost device umass0: detached When I plug the USB cable back in I am back to the same ol' problem: umass0: In system Design USB Storage Adapter, rev 2.00/11.05, addr 2 umass0: BBB reset failed, TIMEOUT umass0: BBB bulk-in clear stall failed, TIMEOUT umass0: BBB bulk-out clear stall failed, TIMEOUT over and over again then (da0:umass-sim0:0:0:0): got CAM status 0x4 (da0:umass-sim0:0:0:0): fatal error, failed to attach to device (da0:umass-sim0:0:0:0): lost device (da0:umass-sim0:0:0:0): removing device entry I was reading through the rest of the man page for camcontrol but it is not clear to me that there is another command in camcontrol. Any ideas? -Alex On Sat, Nov 01, 2003 at 02:50:13PM -0500, Alexander P.
