Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Sender: owner-questions@freebsd.org X-Loop: FreeBSD.org Precedence: bulk I love working in X. What I don't love is that many of my favorite console-based programs don't look good in the stock xterm, color_xterm, or rxvt. For example, try running editors such as JED or JOVE, comm programs such as Minicom, or system tools like pkg_manage in one of these type windows, you'll see what I mean. Uneven highlighting, weird treatment of background/foreground/whatnot colors, and generally screwball behavior. So, I ask: is there a better xterm-like program that more faithfully displays console-based (i.e. syscons) applications? OR, is there a way of configuring or playing around with Xterm/rxvt/etc. (possibly X configs, or termcap entries, or whatnot) to make such character-based apps look better? Any help gratefully appreciated. THANKS!
